New Research: Goji May Help Prevent Breast Cancer

If you're a regular reader of this health resource, you
already know I'm a big fan of the juice of the Lycium
barbarum plant—better known as goji. It has a wide range
of health-promoting effects.

At the recent San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium, researchers
presented a study that revealed exciting new potential for this
long-revered Asian berry.

Researchers are always searching for ways to modulate
hormone levels and metabolism in the quest to find cures
for breast, prostate, ovarian, and other cancers that afflict
the reproductive organs. Hormone-dependent cancers are usually
more aggressive and difficult to treat.

A research team from the Strang Cancer Research Laboratory
at Hackensack University presented a study in San Antonio that
found that extracts of goji inhibited a specific pathway of
estrogen metabolism that is known to encourage the growth of
hormone-dependent breast cancers.

More specifically, women with breast cancer usually have
accelerated C16-alpha hydroxylation of the estrogen in their
bodies. This is a method the body uses to break down extra or
"used-up" estrogen, but it yields a product called 17 beta-
estradiol, also known as E2—a known promoter of breast cancer
growth.

In a test tube-study, the investigators demonstrated that goji
caused human breast cancer cells to down-regulate this pathway
of estrogen metabolism.

This is huge news, and yet another reason to get your goji!

Quadrupling Sales!

Compared to our record first quarter in 2005, Sales of
Himalayan Goji Juice were more than 4 times higher in the
first quarter of 2006 than just 12 months ago! Yes, that is
not a misprint-4 times higher than 12 months ago!

Is it August Already?!

How about this statistic: We've sold more bottles of
Himalayan Goji Juice in the first 3 months of this year
than we did in the first 8 ½ months of 2005! Think about
that for a minute. The year 2005 was our biggest year ever,
yet we've already accomplished what we did in our first
8 ½ months of 2005 in our first 3 months of 2006!

That is absolutely incredible!

Oh Canada!

In March, Canada became our first market outside of the
United States to achieve $2 million in monthly sales! To
celebrate the outstanding success our Canadian friends are
experiencing, Kevin and I will be doing a 6-city Canadian
Co-Founders Tour in early May.

At our record-setting March Madness event in Dallas, we

Another FreeLife distributor reported me for providing too much Health Related Information.

So, I'm in the process of removing all connection between FreeLife and the Health Benefits their products provide.

Quite simply, it's driving me crazy.

I can understand FreeLife's perspective. They don't want to be shut down by a Federal agency who bows to the pharmaceutical industry and because we, as in FreeLife, do not spend millions on clinical research - we can't make health related claims.

Heck, I don't think water - clean, pure, water, could be promoted as having any health related value without being blessed through clinical trial.

And did you know that over 450 people die each year in the U.S. from acetaminophen (Tylenol) poisoning? At least it was approved through clinical testing!

Anyone ever died from drinking too much Goji?

Not unless they drowned or had too much adult related fun (according to some of my customers) - even then, they would go out with a smile. Seems like a nice way to go.

I live in an area of northern Michigan famous for it's cherry orchards and vineyards.

Cherries deliver many health benefits to those who drink the juice or eat the dried berries. The cherry growers want to promote these benefits, but they have the same problem we have, due to clinical trial requirements.
